Camrock trail starting from Cambridge to Rockdale, we'll have to see whether they're skiing or not. If we care to do a detour, the trail itself has been heavily used by bicycles so pretty packed down but it is a bit icy

HIKE ON THE HOOK LAKE BOG - - On this hike we'll make a loop on the scenic frozen bog. Neither snowshoes nor traction cleats needed. Park in the McManus Rd lot off of Rutland-Dunn Townline Rd. Id seriously encourage you to read about this bog online before your visit as it has alot of unique features

Let's celebrate MLK Day and take advantage of the frigid temps with a hike in Blue Mounds SP. WooHoo! -5 temps at hike time with an 18 mph NW wind....but lots of continuous shelter in the woods. Pack your woolies and park at the usual lot for this week's arctic adventure. Bring your snowshoes....maybe use them (or not). 10:00:00 start time SHARP (we're not waiting for anyone) :-)

A walk in the woods in the badfish Creek recreation area. Meet at 3260 Old stage road parking lot also canoe launch if you're so inclined dry suit probably a good idea. Trail is a lightly snow covered. Well packed. No need to be concerned about ice or anything as best I could tell. Should be a good day

Bill reported on government and politics for United Press International. He's the founder of the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, creator of the GRABAAWR bicycle ride along the Wisconsin River, and also directed the SAGBRAW bicycle event. He's now working on improving Wisconsin's recreational and transportation trail system. Bill H.
Bill is a retired lieutenant from the Madison Fire Department. He is now a part time instructor in the fire science program at the Madison Area College. Bill B.
Bill spent his adult life in public education: 24 1/2 years as a teacher; 2 years as a high school assistant-principal (misery for sure); 10 years as a high school principal; and, 4 years as a superintendent of schools. He has been married to his dear Ruby Kay for almost 40 years. Bob retired in 2008 after 33 years as Civil and Environmental Engineer with WDNR working primarily in the field of wastewater treatment. He and wife, Nan, like to travel, attend UW football, basketball and hockey games as time permits. Bob is also active with Wisconsin Public Television, the neighborhood association, church, and retirement activities like the bike and bowl group, DNR golf league and card games with fellow retirees. Since the1980's I have owned eight bikes of various types, and actually raced a mountain bike in the WORBA series in the early 90’s (Have four bikes now). I have ridden many multi-day trips both loaded and with shuttled luggage in the United States, Europe, England, Scotlsnd and SE Asia and over 30,000 miles on one bike or another with a lot of it on the Badger Trail. He was the attorney for the Wisconsin consumer protection program writing laws and rules for the marketplace and bringing enforcement actions against violators. Gene retired from the WDNR's Waste and Materials Management Program in 2009 after 32 years of service, working both in the Madison Central office (starting at the Pyare Square Bldg) and at SCR's Fish Hatchery Rd office. During that time he worked as a plan review engineer, regional program manager and section chief. He also had the opportunity to work with EPA in Washington on a number of environmental initiatives. Ken is a retired Civil Engineer and was the Director of Dane County Public Works for 26 years. The department was responsible for new building construction; solid waste program, lake levels and aquatic weed harvesting. He is married to Carol and they have two children and four grandchildren. He teaches canoe and kayak building classes. Ken has been going to the Quetico Provincial park for 47 years and has over seventy-five trips! Ken K.
Ken worked as a professor at UW-Madison from 1985-2018 when he retired. He was UW’s Forest Entomologist, and frequently collaborated with DNR, DATCP, and USFS personnel. Ken lives in the near west side of Madison with his wife, and has 2 daughters and 3 grandkids. He grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and was born in Irvington New Jersey. At various times he lived in Pullman WA, Philadelphia PA, and Asheville NC. Ken R.

He now spends his time biking, hiking and golfing in the summer, and downhill skiing in the winter. His fitness goal is simply to stay above ground. Ted retired from the WDNR Division of Forestry in 2007 after 33 years of service. He had a number of assignments in both fire and forest management. As an additional duty, for about 18 years he was the first line supervisor responsible for the maintenance of the Portage levee system. Ted passed away in 2018. Ted P.

Terry is a lieutenant/paramedic with the City of Madison Fire Department and 49 year old lucky husband and father of two 9,10 year old children and so far Cancer stage 3 survivor of 3 rounds of chemo and 3 surgeries. Community volunteer : local, national and international. His favorite bike tour is Ride the Rockies. Other hobbies include: ice hockey, everything outdoors, and his children=family first. Terry R.

Will grew up in and around Chicago, taught Spanish in Milwaukee, practiced law in Madison and was staff counsel to the WI Supreme Court twenty-two years, retiring 2014. He spent twelve years as part-time land manager for Dane County Parks dealing with new properties. He volunteers with DCP chainsaw and prescribed burn crews, Holy Wisdom Monastery prairie development and Habitat for Humanity deconstruction crew. Will M.
